Women artists have historically been trailblazers in their chosen forms, prospering from their considerable talent and perseverance during a time when it was difficult for women to sustain themselves financially at all. On the third floor, in a small gallery, are eight Impressionist paintings of great tranquility. Paintings by Gari Melchers who himself was the art adviser to the Telfair a century ago. The intimate exhibition is titled “One Hundred Years of Harmony.” More
